Julia Schroeder
Actor/Improviser/Comedian in NYC
aka jules
Julia is an actor/improviser/writer/comedian based in NYC. She performs characters, improv, and sketch comedy all around New York. You may have seen her in any number of commercials where she plays a zit breakout, the voice of an Xbox console opposite Jimmy O. Yang, or a woman obsessed with an Italian Leather Bag. Or maybe you recognize her from helping Jimmy Fallon reveal extravagant Kentucky Derby hats. She also recently booked a feature film, more info on that as soon as it’s legal to share.
Her sketch group Time To Kill headlined New York SketchFest ‘23 and was featured in New York Comedy Festival ‘23. Her solo show Changing Room was a SOLOCOM headliner, and her critically acclaimed two woman show The Parent Trap: Lord of the Twins Trilogy headlined the Detroit Women of Comedy Festival (and is a “must-see” according to actual audience member Elaine Hendrix, aka the evil stepmom from the literal movie).
Julia improvises with the group Sounds Funny Radio both in podcast form and live stage form. The group currently features an insane show called Looper, where the cast improvises one scene on repeat for the entire show.
Julia is also a proud Story Pirates actor and director. She does shows up and down the east coast and she’s a cohost of the sports-themed Story Pirates podcast ‘Game On’ in partnership with Steph Curry’s Unanimous Media. It made Audible’s ‘Best of 2023’ podcast list - go listen!
Julia’s a standout character performer. Her solo show Changing Room is an hour-long, immersive character show featuring her favorite characters/impressions du jour, with all costume changes happening on stage. Her characters and impressions have been featured on character shows all around the city, including Characters Welcome, as well as a monthly feature on Magnet’s ‘Character Night’ where she improvises a character based on costumes & props chosen by the audience. You can see her brain’s every bit and character on Instagram and TikTok.
Meet Julia once and you’ll know she has big host energy. She was a long-time host of the renowned ‘Wednesday Night Scene’ at PIT. She’s also a sought after online trivia host with multiple companies, a co-host of ‘She’s Good!,’ a comedy podcast covering women’s sports. (Ask her about being a two-sport collegiate athlete if you really want to understand her “whole vibe”)
Originally from Metro Detroit, she started doing improv, sketch comedy, and plays in 2013 at Go Comedy! Improv Theater and Planet Ant. There she developed her playful, impulsive, and contagiously silly performance style. Consistent feedback from live audiences include that she is uniquely fun to watch perform, with infectious joy and impulsive which she dedicates to her pure unadulterated love for performing and clowning around.
Beyond all that Julia loves running, biking, playing soccer with her co-ed team of comedy friends where she recently got—and this is true—a RED CARD, and walking dogs through the streets of New York. Chances are, she is dying to be friends with you.
Julia is represented by Stewart Talent (Commercial, Comedy, VO), DreamScope Entertainment (management), and is currently seeking Theatrical Representation.
